Food safety and hygiene
Buyers of grain and oil seeds can rest assured in knowing that Senwes applies the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system.
This system offers the following added value to the buyer:
- It enhances the buyer’s own food safety initiatives.
- It serves as an additional aid during inspections by regulatory authorities.
- It promotes international trade by increasing confidence in food safety.
Senwes is registered as Food Business Operator with the National Department of Agriculture. Standards and procedures have been introduced at all Senwes silos in accordance with South African Good Management Practice. It includes safety, health and environmental quality innovations that Senwes, as a grain operations manager, puts into practice to improve safety and efficiency.
HACCP is a food safety system that focuses on prevention rather than end-product testing.
