Senwes Scenario

October - November, 2017

The unique town of Schweizer-Reneke is the area of focus in the October/November 2017 edition of Senwes Scenario. A Senwes producer, Johan van Wyk, or rather Boeta, appears on the cover page of this edition, on his farm Klipfontein in the Schweizer district.

This area is Senwes area and according to the inhabitants, a little bit of Northwest, Free State and Northern Cape can be seen everywhere. Boeta describes his farm, which is situated towards Bloemhof direction, as “where the Karoo and the Kalahari meet.”
In the Spotlight focuses on Boeta and his farm, his pillars of support, farm workers and his wife Trudie, who is also a farm girl and who helps him with the farming. Little Johan (1) and Dihani (5) are taking everything in and will be taking over the reigns in a few decades' time.
Senwes Scenario also visited Senwes Equipment and the Hinterland Village branch, where branch manager Waldo Venter told us more about the branch. We also talked to some of the more important role players in the area, such as the agricultural business manager, grain marketing advisor and the working foreman at Senwes Equipment, and talked about all the Jacos working here.
Area Focus looks at a number of interesting facts, for instance who the town was named after, the Kruger millions, alluvial diamonds, famous trees and buildings and well-known people from the area.
With all eyes on the future, we are waiting in anticipation for the opening of the East Londen branch. We will be reporting on Senwes Equipment's activities in East Londen, as well as the expansion into the Eastern Cape.
